New Year, New Stories to Tell

We’ve wrapped up 2023, friends. And before us are the untouched possibilities of 2024. Is there anything more full of promise than a fresh, shiny new year? We turn over the calendar pages, and there stand 12 new months primed for new adventures, experiencing new joys, meeting new friends and traveling to new places. A chance to add a brand-new story to our book of life.

In Forsyth, story has long been a part of our name and legacy. While many may know of our city as a quick stop off Interstate 75, those who linger here realize we are so much more.

As 2024 unfolds, we want to show you, dear traveler, how to create and experience your own tales here in town. In true Southern fashion, we welcome you to our tables, park benches and shops and ask, “What kind of story do you want to tell? Or which story would you like to hear?”

Tales of Treasure Hunting

If you seek one-of-a-kind gifts and unique finds, our shops, studios and markets hold a treasure trove of goodies. From inspiring art and handpainted signs at our local studios to trendy apparel at our boutiques, shopping in Forsyth is a delightful affair. Finding that perfect treasure is even more special because of the friendly locals ready to lend a hand.

Culinary Journeys

Flavor, comfort and variety are the spice of life, and Forsyth has them aplenty! Many of our local restaurants use locally sourced ingredients, family recipes and ingenuity to create scrumptious menus that delight hungry travelers. Sharing a meal and a good story around the table is one of life’s simpler pleasures, one we all should slow down and enjoy more often, don’t you agree?

Historical Tomes

Our rich past has been well-preserved and collected by dedicated neighbors who understand the value of great storytelling. Our museums and landmarks hold the record of how our town was built and of the people whose feats and achievements made a difference in Georgia’s history. Many will even find the charming history of Juliette and the Whistle Stop Cafe too irresistible to miss. May we suggest a plate of fried green tomatoes to go with your journey into days gone by?

Daring Adventures

If one has only stopped over in Forsyth for a quick fill-up and a snack, they are missing out on some of the most beautiful spots to take a deep breath or, if one so chooses, get that old ticker pumping. We have it all right here, folks. Waterfalls, dense forests, lakes, relaxing drives and beautiful trails are found nearby, giving the explorer in us all a landscape full of enticing adventures.

We all know that life can get pretty hectic. Slow down and look around. Whatever brings you to Forsyth, you can find time to rest your bones, test your mettle, satisfy your hunger and lift your spirits. Cheers to a year of new stories. And cheers to Forsyth, where “story” is our middle name.
